Family Angry That Long Beach Teen’s Body Being Held at Coroner’s Office 2 Weeks After Fatal Crash

Two weeks after a Long Beach teenager was killed in a horrific crash on the 405 Freeway, the family of Lah’Shae McAdory said they can`t hold a burial because her body has not yet been identified and was still being held at the coroner`s office.

The body of Lah’Shae McAdory has yet to be identified by the coroner’s office, her family said.

The family held a vigil on Saturday night to remember the teen who was killed in the July 26 collision, and to raise money for her burial.

“My baby was only 17 years old,” her grief-stricken mother, Shaunta Fisher, said through tears. “I had to find out she was dead on Facebook.”

The family expressed outrage that the L.A. County Coroner’s office was taking so long to identify Lah’Shae and release her body.

“We’ve been getting the runaround from two weeks ago, and that is my daughter down there. That’s her,” Fisher said.

The victim from the crash remains listed as “Jane Doe,” even though the family provided Lah’Shae’s dental records to the coroner’s office.

However, officials told KTLA the records proved to be inconclusive, and that the office was waiting for a second opinion to review them.

“They could’ve called us and told us, and we could’ve gotten more information,” said Juliette Cleveland, the victim’s aunt. “But nobody calls. Nobody.”

Fisher said at this point, she was just looking for some closure to her nightmare ordeal.

“All we want to do is lay her to rest,” she said.
