Famed P-22 Mountain Lion Found Hiding Under Los Feliz Home, Owner Says

The mountain lion known as P-22 was captured on video hiding beneath a crawl space of a home in Los Feliz on April 13, 2015.

Animal-control officials Monday evening were trying to coax the much-photographed mountain lion known as P-22 from under the crawl space of a Los Feliz home — but so far, their efforts have proved unsuccessful.

Hours after the puma was discovered under a hillside home near Griffith Park, a state Department of Fish and Game official shot tennis balls and tried to poke the usually wily lion in an effort to nudge the animal to slink back into the wild.

Neither method proved effective, so around 9:35 p.m., the official fired bean bag rounds into the narrow space.

Unsurprisingly, the lion that’s believed to have crossed the 405 and 101 freeways, survived mange and thrived in the hills of Griffith Park was not swayed.
