Voters in California and across the nation will be heading to the polls on Tuesday to vote in the Midterm Elections.
Among the key items on the state ballot this year — the race for governor. Democratic incumbent Jerry Brown is vying for an unprecedented fourth term as he faces off against Republican challenger Neel Kashkari.
Other statewide officers are up for a vote as well, including lieutenant governor, secretary of state, treasurer, attorney general and insurance commissioner.
Additionally, voters will also be deciding the fate of several propositions that deal with issues ranging from the state’s water system, to the state budget, healthcare insurance notices and medical malpractice lawsuits.
In L.A. County, voters will elect a new sheriff, an assessor and a supervisor.
Turnout was expected to be low in L.A. County, with some experts predicting that it could possibly dip below 50 percent.
Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
