The E.J. Jackson Foundation held its annual turkey giveaway at 3669 West Slauson Ave. (map) beginning at 8 a.m.

The foundation expected to give away more than 10,000 boxes of food to those in need, E.J. Jackson said.

Dozens of volunteers were on hand to help give out the Thanksgiving Day meals.

Jackson said they would continue to hand out meals “until its all gone, because I can’t eat all this.”

The boxes contained a turkey, stuffing, vegetables and other trimmings.
