Disneyland worker punched on Metro bus in Anaheim

A Disneyland worker says he was punched as he tried to get the attention of a disruptive passenger on a Metro bus in Anaheim Wednesday night.

Anaheim police were called to South Harbor Boulevard and Disney Way regarding an assault on a bus shortly before 11 p.m.

Video showed the victim still in his Disneyland uniform being treated by emergency personnel at the scene.

The victim was not taken to a hospital but did have a cooling pack on his head when he spoke to stringer news service OnScene.TV following the incident.

“The bus driver was trying to get his attention … I guess on the way over here he was harassing other people,” said the unidentified employee.

The victim said he asked the suspect a couple of times if he heard the bus driver tell him to calm down or get off the bus but the suspect only asked what he was going to do about it.

“I said, ‘Nothing … Just trying to get your attention for the bus driver,’ and that was enough for him to be pretty upset … enough to punch me I guess,” the victim said.

The unidentified suspect was apprehended on the bus by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department personnel, Metro said in a statement following the incident.

“Metro thanks the quick actions of its bus operator, who quickly called for law enforcement assistance to respond to last night’s incident involving a physical altercation between two passengers on Metro 460 Line Bus,” a portion of the statement read.

The Metro bus was en route from Los Angeles to Anaheim.
