Police on Tuesday were searching for an armed man who robbed three homes in an area of Fullerton over the course of one night, and may be responsible for up to three more, authorities said.
The three robberies all occurred on Sunday night, according to a news release from the Fullerton Police Department.
Officers initially responded after receiving a report of robbery in the 1500 block of Avenida Selva (map). A couple told police they were approached by a man who pointed a handgun at them and demanded money. The couple complied and the man fled.
While officers investigated that robbery, they discovered that another one had occurred earlier on the same street. A woman was in her kitchen when she was approached by a man with a gun who told her to hand money over, police said.
In both instances the man entered through partially opened garages.
The third robbery was reported in the 2600 block of Trieste Way (map) shortly before midnight, the release stated. The robber entered the home by stepping into the garage as the door was closing. He brandished a gun and demanded the woman’s purse before fleeing toward Emory Park, according to police.
“I was really scared, I’m still, you know, really shaken up,” one of the victims, who asked to remain anonymous, told KTLA.
The robber was described as a white or Hispanic male, standing between 6-feet and 6-foot-4 inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds, police said. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and a bandana.
The weapon was believed to be a black-semi automatic handgun.
According to police, the description given in the three robberies matched the same one in three other robberies that occurred in the same area about six weeks earlier.
