Authorities in Palm Desert are investigating after they responded to a reported shooting and found shells, bullet marks and loaded guns, but no shooters or victims.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 73000 block of Highway 111 at a few minutes before 10 p.m. Thursday night, officials said in a news release.

On scene, deputies found “numerous shell casings,” “bullet impact marks on businesses in the area” and “two loaded handguns in close proximity to the area of the shooting,” the release said.

What deputies did not find, however, were “injured persons or signs of injured parties.”

Investigators are continuing to look into the incident.
