A 56-year-old woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver while crossing a street Friday night in South Los Angeles.
It happened around 9:45 p.m. near the intersection of Crenshaw Boulevard and 63rd Street, according to Officer Nuria Vanegas with the Los Angeles Police Department.
It was not known if the woman was in a crosswalk when she was struck.
The hit-and-run driver’s car was described as a dark black or blue 4-door vehicle with blue and yellow paper plates.
Officials originally stated the woman was believed to be around 60 years old, but later clarified that she was 56.
