2 teens killed in Rancho Cucamonga crash

A crash in Rancho Cucamonga has left two teenagers dead and one hospitalized after the vehicle they were traveling in crashed into a utility pole on Friday.

Authorities say the three teens were going west on Wilson Avenue when the driver lost control just as they passed Haven Avenue around 4:25 p.m. The car collided with an electric power pole and then hit a tree.

When emergency responders arrived on the scene, they attempted to provide medical assistance to the victims. Despite the attempts, the 17-year-old male driver and a 14-year-old female passenger were pronounced dead.

A 17-year-old male passenger was transported to a local hospital where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. There are unconfirmed reports that three victims were students at nearby Los Osos High School.

Video from Sky5 showed deputies and emergency crews investigating the crash site late Friday evening.

The cause of the deadly crash remains under investigation.
