A Toyota Corolla collided with a Metro train in Pasadena, seriously injuring two people and prompting the temporary suspension of Gold Line service between two stations early Sunday afternoon, officials said.
The collision occurred at the Metro crossing in the area of California Boulevard and Raymond Avenue shortly before noon, according to the Pasadena Fire Department.
Two male occupants inside the Corolla were transported to a local hospital in serious condition, Pasadena fire spokeswoman Lisa Derderian said. The ages of the victims were not known.
No injuries were reported on the train, which had 24 people aboard at the time of the crash, she added.
Gold Line service was initially suspended between Fillmore and Del Mar stations in the immediate aftermath of the collision, according to Metro.
Limited service has since resumed between the stations, with delays of about 20 minutes, the agency said.
Normal service in the area was expected to begin again at 2:30 p.m.
