Police were searching Sunday for four robbers who tied up two Palos Verdes Estates residents during a home-invasion that occurred in the affluent area the previous night, authorities said.

Officers responded to the 1700 block of Paseo La Cresta (map) at about 8 p.m. Saturday after the victims called to report the incident, according to Sgt. Steven Lebeau of the Palos Verdes Estates Police Department.

The residents told investigators that four black men had entered their home that evening and tied them up, Lebeau said.

Their home was then ransacked for approximately 30 minutes before the thieves made off with an unknown amount of property, according to Lebeau.

Both victims were able to free themselves, he added. One of them sustained minor injuries from being tied up, but it was not unclear if they were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police did not have additional information about the incident, nor did they have a detailed description available of the four wanted men.

An investigation into the incident was underway.
