A 35-year-old woman was arrested after her two young children were found left in a vehicle in Pasadena Friday afternoon, authorities said.

The Pasadena Fire Department was called to the 1800 block of North Fair Oaks Avenue (map) shortly after 2:30 p.m., according to a brief news release from the Pasadena Fire Department.

Two children, ages 3 and 7, were found to have been left in a vehicle there “for an undetermined period of time,” the release stated.

Pasadena police responded, and Corina Lopez was arrested on suspicion of possible child endangerment, according to the Fire Department.

The address given in the release is for the city of Pasadena’s Public Health Department.

The two children were transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital for evaluation, and the county Department of Children and Family Services was responding to investigate.

No information was provided on the children’s condition.

The high in that part of Pasadena was 89 degrees, according to National Weather Service records.

The arrest comes a day after a nationwide social media campaign from public safety agencies about the dangers of leaving children unattended in vehicles.

And one day after the death of a 3-year-old boy in Sylmar who was overcome by heat after becoming locked inside a vehicle he was playing in outside his home.
