Anonymous donors gifted a total of $10,000 in cash to the Pasadena Humane Society over the last week by quietly slipping envelopes with money into the organization’s donation box.

The most recent donation left at the facility, located at 361 S. Raymond Ave., was on Saturday, officials reported.  Staff was tipped off to the donation after receiving an anonymous phone call.

Upon opening the donation box, a staff member found a note written on a Starbucks napkin that said, “Got the inspiration last week – Please save the animals, for some of us it’s all we have left.”

The note made mention of an $8,000 cash donation left by another anonymous donor at the Pasadena Humane Society last Wednesday.

“We are awestruck by the generosity and support of our community,” Julie Bank, President/CEO of the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA, told KTLA.

“The donations are vital to provide food, shelter and medical care to the more than 12,000 animals that come through our doors each year,” Bank said. “We hope this is the beginning of a trend of giving to help animals at the Pasadena Humane Society and across the nation.”
