About 10 tons of marijuana plants and processed pot have been seized in raids on illegal cultivation sites in a rural area of Southern California.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department says nine search warrants were served Monday in the unincorporated Anza area southeast of Hemet.

In all, about 4,100 plants and more than 1,000 pounds (454 kilograms) of process marijuana were collected, along with an estimated $900 in cash and two firearms. Two men located at separate grow sites could face charges.

State Fish and Game and Regional Water Quality Control Board personnel joined sheriff’s deputies in serving the warrants.
