Southern California Mega Millions player wins nearly $1 million

Friday’s Mega Million’s draw didn’t net a big winner but one ticket sold in Riverside County is now worth close to three-quarters of $1 million.

The California Lottery said nobody hit all five numbers and the mega number, but one sold ticket matched the five numbers. That ticket was sold at a Shell gas station located at 2192 West Ramsey Street in Banning.


The winning numbers were 3, 8, 31, 35, 44 with a mega number of 16.

If a lucky winner had hit the jackpot, it would’ve been worth $977 million — before taxes, of course.

For the next drawing on Tuesday, the jackpot will be worth a jaw-dropping $1.1 billion. That number is expected to be worth more than $500 million in cash.
