One of the fastest-growing budget-friendly airlines in the country is adding another new service from its California hub at the Hollywood Burbank Airport.

On Wednesday, Avelo Airlines announced a new nonstop flight between Burbank and Las Vegas that will begin taking off on May 3.

The flights will be offered on Fridays and Sundays between Hollywood Burbank Airport and Harry Reid International Airport with introductory fares of $57 one-way.

The introductory fares for this new service will include taxes and fees. The discounted fares need to be booked by April 10 for trips that must be completed by July 31. Flights will be aboard a Boeing Next Generation 737 aircraft.

Andrew Levy, CEO and founder of Avelo, said the company is excited to offer its 14th new destination from Burbank.

“We were very encouraged by the strong Customer response we received when we offered special flights between BUR and LAS for football’s big game in February. We look forward to offering travelers Avelo’s everyday affordability, convenience, and reliability between these two vibrant cities.”

In February, Avelo offered a single one-time flight between the two cities ahead of Super Bowl LVII.

Travelers who fly regularly out of Hollywood Burbank Airport are no strangers to the Burbank to Vegas route; Southwest and Spirit Airlines also offer flights between the two entertainment capitals.

“Our passengers know how easy it is to fly from Hollywood Burbank Airport to Las Vegas,” said Frank Miller, executive director of Hollywood Burbank Airport. “We are pleased that Avelo Airlines is making it even more convenient for travelers to do so.”

Avelo began operating out of Burbank in April 2021, and has expanded to 13 (and now 14) different destinations. In September 2023, the budget airline surpassed 1 million passengers at L.A.’s other airport.

Other destinations from Burbank serviced by Avelo include Sonoma, Eureka and Redding, California; Colorado Springs, Colorado; Boise, Idaho; Bend and Eugene, Oregon; and Bozeman and Kalispell, Montana.

In addition to low fares, the budget airline also offers no-fee changes to itineraries, and pick-and-choose payments for additional perks like priority boarding, additional leg room or checked bags.
