Nearly 200 firefighters were working to contain a 15-acre brush fire in Topanga that broke out on Monday and had threatened some structures, officials reported.
Dubbed the Flores Fire, the blaze started at about 2:40 p.m. Monday in the area of Tuna Canyon Road and Las Flores Heights Road, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The fire grew from three to 15 acres, with 195 firefighters sent to battle the fire from the air and on the ground.
Forward progress was stopped just before 5 p.m.
Video from Sky5 showed fire crews executing a water drop over an Airstream travel trailer located on the hillside that flames were seen burning around.
A fixed wing retardant dropping aircraft also helped to douse the fire, officials said.
One firefighter suffered a minor injury.
The California Highway Patrol said Tuna Canyon Road from Pacific Coast Highway to Saddle Peak Road will be closed temporarily.
